Sprinkler Irrigation

Drip Irrigation

Having a sprinkler system installed in a new or existing yard might seem like a challenging decision. Where to start? What needs to be watered? Grass, trees, shrubs, flower beds, herb garden, vegetable garden, raised beds, and hanging baskets all have different requirements to stay healthy. Will the system need to be trenched under a driveway or pathway? Time clock control? Update or repair an existing system? Turf Medic understands your concerns and will gladly come out to give you a detailed estimate.

Drip irrigation systems work by allowing water to drip directly onto the roots of plants, without going through the barrier of foliage. It is a more effective way of watering your plants because roots are targeted. The plants absorb the nutrients right away in an even manner and in a controlled environment. With this type of irrigation system, long-term water and fertilization costs will decrease.

Sprinkler system irrigation is probably the most common method among homeowners. It’s a method of applying or spraying water to your lawn in a way that imitates natural rainfall. More specifically, sprinkler irrigation is the process of distributing water through a piping system either underground or over ground. The water is pumped and then sprayed through sprinkler heads into the air that will distribute the water droplets uniformly across the area on your lawn.

Installation

Repair

Maintenance on your irrigation system is very important in preventing costly repairs. Turf Medic can help you implement a maintenance schedule to make sure your system is performing properly and to identify possible issues. Incorrect water pressure and flow rate can be fixed if detected before valve or sprinkler head damage occurs. Electrical problems can cause the zones or system to shutdown. Whether a broken sprinkler head, a clogged valve, a damaged rotor or a malfunctioning controller, they can all be easily fixed.

Backflow Inspection and Certification

Turf Medic is state and locally licensed to inspect and certify backflows. Backflow inspection is very important in helping to protect your drinking water and sprinkler system from contamination. Contaminants can enter an irrigation system from fertilizer or pesticides that are sprayed onto lawns, or a change in water pressure from hydrant use in the neighborhood. Even small fluctuations in city water mains that occur due to uneven water use from one neighborhood to the next can cause drops in pressure large enough to cause a back-flow and therefore contamination to occur.
